Heartsaver Course

The Heartsaver CPR AED Course is ideal for anyone who wants to learn CPR and how to use an AED, and would like to receive a course completion card.

The complete Heartsaver CPR AED Course takes approximately 4½ hours to complete and teaches you the basic techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the relief of choking for adults, children and infants.

What is an AED? An AED is a computerised defibrillator which analyses the heart rhythm of a person in cardiac arrest and uses voice prompts to advise you if a shock is needed.

The Heartsaver CPR AED course follows a practice-while-watching video format and is led by instructors who will provide feedback and guide you through the lessons and help improve your CPR technique as you practice on a manikin.

If you wish to take only the adult portion of this course (which covers adult CPR and use of the AED) this can be done in a 2 hour timeframe.

If you are able to demonstrate high quality CPR at the end of the course you will receive an IHF/AHA Heartsaver CPR AED course completion card that is valid for 2 years.
